an amp makes the biggest difference, not source!

How do you know speakers are **** up the sound? The AR Live vs Recorded tests were kind of eye openers. They weren't using today's "cutting edge" loudspeakers and amp/preamp combos either. Probably open-reel master recordings as a source. People thought they were listening to artists performing live in front of them. Not too shabby for the 50's and 60's technology.

I'll go with:
1 - speakers
2 - room interactions
3 - track mastering
4 - mood/alcohol
Those are the biggest 4 factors for me.
1 - speakers
2 - speaker arrangment with in the room

The only thing that matters is the source. Every other component should get the f**k out of the way.
Ideally, preamps, amps, speakers, cables, etc. should "do no harm." If a component has a "sonic signature," get rid of it.
Two speakers can be equally faithful to the source, but still sound different. -
You're all wrong!!!!!!!!!!!
Cables make the biggest difference
