Anybody heard anything about these speakers, an Amazon exclusive, Harman-Kardon-GLA-55 ??

$999.99 (no I did not typo) for a pair of amplified computer speakers. They state "Arguably the best 2.0 speaker system ever engineered".

Seems a pretty steep price and a pretty high claim.
Thoughts?

My buddy Ray has a 2.1 see-through H-K rig. I don't know what he paid for it and it does sound okay.

I think the very first line in their description sums it up.

The Harman GLA-55 high-end two-piece speaker system has been engineered to raise the bar and deliver the industry reference standard in computer audio..

Not really a very high aspiration to be the reference standard in computer audio speakers. They probably sound as good as any computer speaker made, but at close to $1K................is a bit ridiculous for computer speakers.
