I Live in canada(toronto) where in the Winter it gets rather cold (-20 C) is it still safe to play subwoofers and amps during these cold times, or should i remove them from my car...

That's pretty darn cold... I certainly wouldn't play them at that low of a temperature. They likely wouldn't sound very good anyway. As cold as it gets around here (sometimes below 10F), I never had a problem leaving my gear in my car. However, I would always let the car get fully warmed up before turning the stereo on. And, it would always sound more constrained when cold, for a little while until it got fully warmed up.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Trunks and doormounted speakers in those temps never warm up too much. I would hold down the volume until cabin temp comes up. I never liked to blast too loud when I'm cold as hell early in the morning anyway.

Where I live we get several days a year below 0F (-10 is about the lowest), and many that are 0 to 10F. I jump in the car and play the stereo at normal levels immediatly. Never been a problem. The IDQ10 sub in my car is now 9 years old, and working like new. Never had any trouble with the other speakers or electronics either, and they are 10 years old.
