In a pretty large room (25 x 22) with an open door near the left speaker my sda 2's produced pretty impressive bass in LFE movie scenes, often making the floor rumble (covered with very thick pile carpet). My AVR is a Y 2700. Well I moved my rig to an upstairs room (above garage-slanted walls 15 x 22) and picked up a pair of RTA 12B's which I am now using for mains. It's not the same on bass. I'm going to haul the SDA 2's upstairs but thought I'd check with the experts on how (specs wise) these speakers compare on bass performance. Last question: would I see a major diff if I add a sub like the HSU STF-2? (Remember I'm a novice)

My guess is the difference is in the room.
