I just bought this RA7501(375watts@4ohms) from ebay for $237.The condition is worse then advertised to the point of being deceptive.Although it sounds very clean, hooked up to SDA-1B's it starts to clip at half volume and cuts out with a little more.I'm using the preamp section from a Pioneer SA-9500II with 12 gauge wires-Whats your opinion on that? Did I pay too much for this thing and what did these retail for new? Thanks guys

I previously was running the pioneer and it too was clipping at half volume. What would cause two vastly different power rated amps to clip at half volume?

Well if thats the case,it's time to stop putting power to them and start troublshooting. Can you describe your setup, and exactly what is happening when you power it with the receiver. When you say clipping,, can you describe in a little more detail?

The receiver just cuts out at half volume/shuts off momentarily and then 2 seconds later comes back on.As long as I don't exceed that volume level it seems to be working just fine. However I am hooked up to a two prong house with three prong outlets.I have a surge strip plugged in and the receiver and amp are plugged into this.I do beleive I may have an actually three wire outlet so will open that up and see what i've got.

Check your other thread. Your Pro amp is most likely cutting out because it may not be common ground.

Ben,there is 1 ohm resistance across the neg. terminals,is this low enough to be considered common ground?
