Stopped in the Best Buy in Rockford IL because I had a 20% off coupon, and what do I find ........ the new "Back to Black" section of new release vinyl records! I bought Ry Cooder's Buena Vista Social Club at Carnegie Hall, the remastered on 180 g Lynyrd Skynyrd Second Helping, and Layla and other assorted love songs by Derek and the Dominos. They actually had a pretty good selection of newly released vinyl.

You know they're getting desperate now

I don't think it's so much about getting desperate as it changing their markets a bit. There has been a ton of discussion about BB and CC getting back into vinyl lately, most of it originating many months ago. Their respective websites have been carrying vinyl for a while now as well.

Whether it's a fad or not, that's a different story(with regard to being sold in those stores, not in general).

If Jesse sells his SACD collection and goes to vinyl, we know it's here to stay.

Mark (doro) was saying there would be vinyl sacrifices in the parking lot at the next PF....or was it the most enthusiastic proponents of vinyl that would be sacrificed????:D

That store in Rockford is a test store for vinyl, along with about twenty other nationwide. BB is always testing the waters, for the most current trends. I just returned from creating a "fitness" section (treadmills, ellipticals, etc..) at a store in Des Moines.

The same night I bought 3 LP's, at least 4 other people bought about 20 other LP's between them. Hopefully it goes over well.

That would be nice as long as the new records are mastered without the compression of CD's. I love vinyl. I just bought 7 albums in near mint condition at goodwill for about half the price of a CD:)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I just bought Lindsy Buckingham's "Got the Screw" new for $19.99 - and it included a CD, too. Uncompressed data from the analogue tapes. Sounds amazing.
