Make sure you are not touching the bulbs with bare hands. The oils from your skin will cause premature failure of the bulbs due to hot spots. Is the bulb you are putting in an original OEM bulb or one of the cheaper alternatives? Just curious.

I suppose its possible that something in the bulb power circuit of your TV is causing them to fail sooner, but that seems unlikely. Maybe just bad luck.

I have a mitsubishi 52" dlp and the tv began acting weird several months ago. I thought it was a bulb and since I had a spare on hand popped it in but nothing. I then tried the reset button but no joy. A friend ours mentioned that they had heard something about a class action suit against Mitsubishi concerning some kind of failure in the main board. Fortunately I had purchased the extended warranty through tweeter and the warranty service company came out evaluated it and took the whole tv in for service. I had heard that if the parts weren't available since the model was discontinued that Mits was providing a full credit to be applied to another Mits purchase. Unfortunately, I guess, the parts or board or whatever were available; after about 7 weeks my tv was returned and it has been working just fine.... so far. I copied the following link concerning one of the tv's but you may find that yours is included in the suit.
I hope that none of what I have written applies to you and if it does I hope you have some warranty availability, in any case I just wanted to give you a possible explanation. Good Luck

turns ou it is not the bulb but needs service i have the extended warranty and made the call today to have some one come out and look at it. but from the sounds of it just getting some one out will take a few days and then the back and forth with the service company. interesting read on that link BAD ASP. interestingly enough the board and hard drive were replaced a few years ago on my tv right after mits sent an update for the tv that was corupt. hopefully this will be a quicker process than the last.

    although i wouldn't mind a new tv :)
