Check out the speakers I listened to over the weekend. Speakers are circa 1969-70. 8 drivers per speaker. 360 degrees of sound. They can also be ceiling mounted. Pics are from my cellphone so the quality is not the greatest, however, the speakers are in brand new condition.

Electrohome (a Canadian company) had speakers for all-in-one "hifi" systems like that in the 1970s. Panasonic (Matsushita) had somewhat similar speakers (although the 'stands' were more substantial) bundled with all-in-one systems, too.

They are Nivico speakers, model GB-1E. Japanese (JVC). Speaker surrounds are made of butyl rubber.

Thanks for the offer but my friend won't sell these speakers for less than 2500dollars. Speakers are in excellent condition. He bought these new in 1969 and has the original boxes as seen in the photo above.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Those are a pricey pair of speakers! But I guess that's what happens when rare meets antique. The more important question is, how do they sound?

Sounds like a speaker? I wouldn't get these for home speakers but for the Disco / club, these may suit quite well with the disco lights overheard. What are the ratings for these speakers?
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

They actually sound pretty good although his receiver had alot of static in the controls so they didn' get the cleanest signal through them. He fired up his reel to reel and played the Beatles' Abbey Road. Stereo imaging was quite good all things considered. Speaking of disco lights, these can be ceiling mounted! Not my cup of tea as far as speakers go but I like the fact that he bought these new in 69 and kept them in perfect condition. He has the original receipt for them as well as the boxes.

You never know. All depends on how bad someone wants them.
