Amplifier issues?

I was told i need a common ground ampifilier for my polk sda 1c what exactly is a common ground can anyone show me how i would hook them up to this and why couldn't i used a standard + -, + - amp hook up?

The general rule of thumb is to use only a common ground amplifier with SDA speakers...required to complete the connection for the SDA effect. Most stereo amplifiers and receivers are common ground so you will not have a problem. Further the later models of SDA speakers create a common ground with the interconnect cable which is the case with the pin/blade design you have with your SDA 1C's.
With your amp unplugged, and no speakers attached, measure the resistance between the black ground terminals, if they are not common ground (0 resistance) you may need to simply tie the two ground connections together with a jumper (also some use the AI-1 interface cable which essentially has an isolation transformer in the interconnect cable to allow the speakers to perform in the SDA mode).
