    debussyj - That was a good idea to use the velcro to apply the panels. Did you countersink the velcro into the panel so there isn't a gap between the panel and the speaker?
    I am surprised that a panel split. Was the original panel that cracked a solid wood panel or was it MDF like the newer ones? I wouldn't think the MDF would be prone to splitting.
