Hey guys, I'm trying to decide what to put as my back surround. I currently have my FXia4 as my surround and thinking would it be better to get another FXia4 or RTia1 for my back surround? Or possibly move my fxia4 into back surround and use an rtia1 for surround? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

That depends what the back of the room looks like.....does it have connecting rooms in the back, etc. With my setup, if I put FXi's in the back, they would be shooting right into the hallway.

Give us a little more info or perhaps a pic.

Ideally the same speakers used for the side surround should be used as the rear surrounds too- at the same height.

The exception- if your rear speakers must be places quite a distance away compared to the side surrounds, then you're better off with a monopole (RTiA1) speaker for the rear.

Say! Is there a new update to the RTi4?? :D

I'm telling you!!! I just kept on upgrading, just got me this setup about a month ago. Got me an A3-300 as well(on the way) and now I'm contemplating on replacing my bose 201 with either a4 or a1. Anyhow, after this I'm set; wife's starting to complain:D

I'll reply with my specifics in a bit.

:(No, it doesn't have a connection. All will be ran by wire and the the surround will be against the wall. The difference is that if I get an a4 I can definitely mount it w/out a problem unlike the a1 which will have to be on a stand because of the shape of it. My HT setup is posted under system showcase for added info. Thanks!!!

That does help a lot seeing those pics.

I would definetely get the FXiA4's to match the others....especially at the height that you have them at.

I would tilt your center down a bit to face the listener on the couch.

Yeah, pictures makes a difference. I've got some suggestions about tilting my center to face the listener a bit. Do you think it will make a big difference, it's a CSiA6.

As far as the surround goes, I'm contemplating on getting the a4's as well. Also, in the future my surrounds and back surrounds could be mounted as well since they are better at least 2-3 feet above listener's ear.

Keep the suggestions coming. I appreciate it. Thanks.:D
