Polkfest Carver Special

Carver M-500 amp and C-1 pre amp available for pick up only this weekend at Polkfest. Package price of $260.

Amp is in very good shape, some minor marks on the top of the unit and a slight nick on the very top edge of the faceplate. All meters and lights work flawlessly. This amp has plenty of power; 251 watts into 8 ohms and stable to 2 ohms according to the specs I've seen in print.

Pre amp works great but does have some cosmetic issues. Previous owner attempted to repair some scratches on the top and bottom of the unit using black paint of a different sheen. Some paint missing on the edges of the knobs, has had a foot replaced on the bottom as well. Most of the issues aren't visible with the pre in a rack, and none affect the performance at all.

This could be a very solid start to a secondary 2 channel system or a good chance to get some back up equipment on the cheap.

It is a non-common ground amp; if you have SDA's I'll even throw in a homebrew AI-1 blade/blade transformer at no charge. Thanks for looking, if you need any info or pics lemme know!

As far as I'm concerned, Bill, the AI-1 ball is in Ricardo's court. Just so you know, it's based on the Stancor transformer which, to my ears, constricts the SDA soundstage a bit.
