White stain around cone of woofer on RT55i

Hi all,
I just got my new RT55i today and notice a white circular stain around the center of the cone on one of the woofers. Did not notice any audio defects. Is this a defect? Shoud I return it? Any recommendations?

    Hi,
    I don't beleive that what you describe would harm the performance of the speaker, so whether or not to get it replaced probably comes down to how bad it looks. I can see some "patterns" in the woofer cone material on mine, which I'm sure is normal. It's not anything that's noticable from more than a few inches away. You might give Polk's customer service a call, if you're concerned about it. They're very helpful, and can be reached at 1-800-377-7655, M-F, 9-6 ET.

    Probably won't harm performance. Recommendations? Yes. E-mail Polk, and tell them not to let Micah watch his favorite films on the production floor.

    Dang... He (Micah) probably has a good "expense account". May be this is a good thing for him to do since he didn't have spend company's money on some Mexican bars... :D

    if it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the driver.

    Ask Polk if it's just that Mexican attention to detail...
