im not sure if this is right
so im asking you guys
ok i got a rf 500.2 power amp to power my components
and rf tests all their amps and it says this one tested at 810 at full power at 2 ohms
that right?
i know rf is underrated but 310w is a lot
another reason why im wondering is for model it says power 15002
but on my other paper for the bd1000.1 it says exactly that
and if the 810 is true, does that mean im giving roughly 200wx2 to the components, or am i off?

.... checked google.com for search results... here's a post from sounddomain.com...
" (I) I am the proud (and powerful) owner of two of these amazing amps. The 500 in the 500.2 is a bit decieving, as both of my amps push out around 740 (and so has every other 500.2 ive seen).I am running each one bridged, each powering an Eclipse 15" aluminum cone. (/I) "
So I dont really doubt its 810... the 1500.2 is probably just a typo or misprint.
so if its sposed to be 125 x 2 / 500 .1, then its doubling itself into 2 ohms, and then you add the power of the channels together.. normally amps only multiply by 1.5 into 2 ohms from 4, but some do double... anyway... so 810 / 2 = 405 / 2 = 202.5
so ya, you're exactly right... if you have the gain around 60% or so, and you've got a 4 volt preamp output going to it, then you're putting roughly 200 into them... if you've got a 2 volt preamp output going into there then you'd have to have the gain higher to get that same 200 watts.
that's a GOOD thing !The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
thanx for the feedback
i didnt think i calculated wrong
man thats a lot more power than i expected
i couldve gotten a 350 x 1 amp and saved some money...lol
