Best games for PS3?

I'm planning on getting a PS3 in the near future. Other than the obvious games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear, etc... what are the best games, specifically, the ones with the best online play?

Those titles I mentioned will take up plenty of my single player and party playing with friends, but I'm looking for something to get involved with online. Suggestions?

    BioShock is hitting the PS3, if you have not played it, I would highly recommend. Resistance Fall of Man was cool also.

    Socom: Confrontation is a must have since it comes with a really nice $50 bluetooth headset with a nice docking station.

    Resistance Fall of Man 2 is the must-have FPS this winter, with 64 player online battles it should be epik.

    Little Big Planet is a general must have due to user created content which should make it the best platformer ever for replay and community.

    Valkyria Chronicles I am looking forward to a lot as well...


    on PSN there are a ton of great games. My favorites are Wipeout HD ($20... omg SO FAST!!!!) and Pixel Junk Monsters ($10), but there are a lot of games on there that are as fun as any $60 game... flOw, pixejunk eden, everyday shooter, echocrome, super stardust HD, the last guy, Bionic Commando Remix.... PSN really has a ton of unique great games for download.

    I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a lot of time and money with this thing once I get it. Can't wait!

    COD4 I've heard is excellent online if you like FPS's. I like the Orange Box for home play a lot too.

    Another here for COD4. Not typically a FPS military guy, but I play this with my brothers online and it is a lot of fun (despite the fact that I get RAPED every time)

    I would also suggest Burnout: Paradise if you enjoy racing mission games. This game will keep you busy for MONTHS. Many many missions and side-content. It can be downloaded on the PS3 Store for $29.99.

    Get the Orange Box for sure. It has 3 huge games on one disc for about $29 new. It has Half Life 2, one of the best 1st person shooters ever, with 2 additional levels. It also has Portal, a great puzzle type game. And finally it has Team Fortress; a really fun online battle game.
