I went to sound advice(a Audio/Video Shop) and audition several sub woofers. The Polk sounded the best and I Wondered how would they(IT) sound with my 1.2's. What's your thoughts on this guys and which Polk Subwoofer should I buy or should I just spend that money on some other Polk Item......tell me the truth guys. :):)

Are you considering a sub for music or HT?

For music, I can't imagine needing a sub with 1.2's unless they're not set up properly.

Just found the thread about your rig. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72489

If you feel your 1.2's are lacking in bass, a sub may not help much due to the dimensions of that room. I would look into room treatments if possible, if not moving them to a larger room.

I may spend the money on something else. No the 1.2's sound very good(bass) and in that room. sure it would be better in a larger room(width). but length wise it's OK

    Thanks for your input

Something like the Hsu ULS15 or SVS PB13Ultra would definitely add more depth and slam. The trick is in calibrating the right crossover slope so that it's not too bassy. I run my sub on some material, but not all. It depends on how the content is mixed. In some cases, it sounds natural and the sub adds just enough, in others, it muddies the midbass. I'd pass on the DSW. Not that it's a bad sub, I just don't think it's enough to add much to your 1.2s.

i'mma chime in now. i've read others semi-bash on those utilizing a sub with the sda-srs's. well, i now have my adcom 5802 amp and now i really feel some bass in my seat. but where it's still lacking is the ultra-low frequencies. i still get an irk for rap. even a few irks for some techmaster P.E.B. i do so love the lowest of low frequencies. when i listened to music in my home theater, yes, i used stereo vs 7 channel stereo. but i loved keeping my svs pb12/2 active. it belts out the lows so very effortlessly.

my two channel is in the next room over. well, my setup will not allow me to incorperate my existing sub, so i'd like a new one. i have a local guy with a HSU VTF 3 MK 2 for only $375 and he'll deliver it for free. i'm not sure how this puppy would stack up against my svs...

edit: actually, i meant to say i don't know how well the HSU would keep up with the 1.2tl's...

A friend has a VTF 3.2. It might work for you. A little better behaved than the Plus/2 for music. Will he let you check it out first?

yeah. he had two. a buddy bought one yesterday for the same price. i honestly could not tell how good it sounded because his entire house was fluttering. sure, the sub is doing it's job. but it was just near impossible to listen to how clean it would drive....not sure if i want to ask him to bring his to my house. the guy selling isn't truely local. he's an hour to 1 1/2 hour drive away. so if he is to travel, damn right i'm gonna buy it.

It's a good sub. My friend is a compulsive calibrator( treatments and BFD) and got his VTF3.2 gnat's **** flat, integrated into an Ascend combo rig. Sounds great in his room. $375 sounds reasonable, there's nothing new you can buy that's as good for that price.

However, listening to rap on SDAs is not allowed, in fact it's worse than non common ground amps. Polys would shutdown and drivers freeze in protest.

eh, not much of a rapaholic. grew outta that years and years ago. dare i say decades ago? but there exists a certain vibe that makes me want to revisit some of the old songs. and i must admit, these sda's opened me up to all new kinds of listening interests that i would have never give a chance to before. either way, i still need me a sub!
