Lat night was the city of Pittsburgh's 250th birthday celebration....and ......I have been to the Statue of Liberty celebration in 86, Disney World's 50th celebration, 4th on the Charles with the Boston Pop, a few family reunions, and a couple of barn burners, but I have never seen fireworks like that. It was like watching 6 simultaneous grand finales for 35 minutes! I have never seen fireworks so intense that they raise the ground temperature by 10 degrees. That truly was a site to see. Was neat to know that ole GW stood right on that ground with General Forbes and gave the city its declaration. Anyone else there?
And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad.

Yep..hard to find a city of its size where everyone is easy going. I use to work downtown and go downtown for a lot of events, and have never had any trouble. I do not ever recall seeing any trouble (fighting, muggings...etc..etc).
Even at sporting events everyone is cool towards the opposing fans and team.
I am sure there are incidents where someone in Brown's Jersey may get harassed now and then...lol....but nothing major. Let me know if you are ever in town George. And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad. -

I live 15 miles from the city. So I didn't see the fireworks. I did hear them!!! Probably many people were watching the Steeler game.Carl
