CD's, SACD's, XRCD's, HDCD's, DVD's, vinyl, Mo-Fi or Chesky recordings? Lay it all down here.

This is what I got today;

Ultimate Demonstration Disc: "Chesky Records' Guide to Critical Listening" CD
Chesky Records "Jazz Sampler & Audiophile Test Compact Disc, Vol. 1" CD [for the Sumiko setup]
Al Di Meola's "Kiss my Axe" CD
Jill Scott's "Live in Paris+" CD/DVD combo
Remastered U2 CD of "the Joshua Tree"
Chesky - "Audiophile Test Disc Vol.2 CD"
and finally a Rob Wasserman song featuring Jennifer Warnes called "Ballad of the Runaway Horse" [for the Sumiko setup]. I don't know what CD this comes on but it's not from the Duets or Trio album. The receipt doesn't actually show which album it is.

I have some of them already and the rest will be shipped pretty soon. I do love new music! :D
~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Offhand, the only other place I know of Leonard Cohen’s Ballad of the Runaway Horse done by Wasserman/Warnes is on the 20th Anniversary Edition of Famous Blue Raincoat (Vinyl and CD). Emmylou Harris also performed that song.

I lucked out but blew my allowance last week on a used M- 180gram Rob Wasserman Duets from Acoustic Sounds. I have the Duets CD as well, and it is a very good recording. My only Goodwill find was a VG/VG George Winston Autumn LP. On pre-order, the new release of Jennifer Warnes The Hunter LP.

Wasted my money on two CD's listed in the " must own" section of the vintage speaker forum...

Kraftwerk----The Mix ( which is just a disco disc with lame melodies )
Tori Amos----Boys for Pele ( thats just some of the weirdest sh#t I've ever heard )
    Don Dorsey--Bachbusters ( a Telarc disc )
The Rascals--The very best of ( great cd, highly enjoyable)
Enya---Paint the Sky with Stars ( boring stuff )
Urbie Green-- The Complete Collection ( fantastic trombonist from the early 60's )
The Fifth Element--Soundtrack ( track 2 has a drop that goes down to 4 hz )

Idiot! That would be Dave Stone, not Wasserman, playing the bass for Ballad on the 20th Anniversay Famous Blue Raincoat.

I've been picking up some cd's of albums I still have but have not gotten around to having my turntable repaired. Last 3 were Van Morrison "Hard Nose The Highway", Lindisfarne "Nicely Out Of Tune" and Hall & Oates "Abandoned Luncheonette". Nice to go down memory lane once in awhile!
Yep, my name really is Bob.
