STFA, and thought I would sign up and join in on the fun. I am looking for an entry level speaker pair for true bookshelf listening. I was set on getting a pair of R150's for a pretty good price, but stumbled upon a pair of T15's at BB today. I thought I read on a topic that I can't find anymore, that the T15 was a special in-house BB model? Is this true? Its basically the same price point as the R150 and aside from the obvious case differences, the port being on the front for the T15 versus the rear of the R150, I can't tell any other changes.
Current Setup:
:( Yamaha AX-450 Amplifier
:) Yamaha YST-SW216 Sub
:) Sony DVPNC800H/B CD/DVD Player
:) Samsung LNT2653H LCD TV
:)polkaudio R150's

It seems that the T15 is a one off for Best Buy as that seems to be the only store that carries it. In addition, it seems that the T15 is basically the R15 remasked for whatever reason. Specs are therefore on par with the R150.

I am heading down to a local BB here to hopefully hear them. I have read some reports that the R15, and possible this T15 is NOT made with MDF however, the R150 is. Anyone know the final word?

First off, welcome to the forum. Secondly,if you're looking for a good bookshelf try to find a pair of Rti6's or if tto much the 4's. You will enjoy the upgrade from the R15's.

Thanks, yeah I am still on the hunt. My budget was at first $100. Now I think I am upping that to $200, maybe a bit more for the speakers. I realize now, after going today to demo a few, that the T15 (At BB) and probobly the R150 (havn't heard) were paltry compared to even the TSi100 that I heard. So back to the drawing board here. I was looking at the Tsi100 for size requirements, and then looked at the TSi200 because I wanted something a bit bigger. Problem is, the TSi200 may not sound its best on its side, which is how I would have to fit it on my one shelf setup...

Ok, ended up getting a pair of the R150's. I just couldn't justify the cost right now for anything more. Once I get out of this small apartment in the spring I will jump on board with something bigger. I also picked up a Yamaha sub from JR on sale to compliment as most 5 1/4 bookshelf speakers lack the low frequencies.
