Seems to me like there's a lot of scams on autotrader, specifically in the WRX STI category. Is it just me and these are killer prices or are these just sleeezy scammers?

It's scammers. Check this crap out...

    Hello Ryan,
Sounds good but I'm afraid that I don't live in that area anymore,
I am recently moved at my residence house because of my divorce.
I live in TX and the car will be shipped from here at your earliest
    convenience.
I can handle the shipping for you if you will agree to buy it..I have a
friend who owes me a favor.
I guess you should not lose this opportunity to own it.
I dropped my bottom line sale price to $9,500 this includes the shipping
    fees and the insurance.
I will only require a refundable downpayment of $5,000 (in held by ebay till
you receive and inspect the vehicle)
and the remainder of the balance upon the inspection period (5 days).. I
guess it's pretty fair ... The ball is in your court.
It will be insured during transportation and will be delivered in 3 days at
    your door.
The transaction will be made under eBay's buyer protection plan.
Please let me know if you have the funds available and wish to go ahead with
    the procedure.

Just tell him you can fly out to look at the car and pay cash. If he accepts, you get a great car for way under KBB. If he never emails you back because its a scam, no lost sleep for you.

I would except the line about "a friend owing a favor" is a stereotypical scammer line. That and the phone number has a Georgia area code, it was listed as being in NJ and now he says he's in Texas. The ad was removed and there are at least 4 more STIs with similar copy in the ad, all asking to be e-mailed at a separate gmail address.

    Too bad :(

Correct, it's obviously a scam, but who says you can't try!

If it's TOO good to be true......
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
