my damn I phone keeps erasing what I wrote. When I have no bars and trying to use the web it takes a while to register and when it does it writes over other stuff. Hard to explain but I just put all those ...... I am at work and trying to sneak on my phone to write back.

I hope he holds it for you.

Thanks Leroy for posting the link but the seller informed me this AM by e-mail they have been sold. I'm disappointed because I feel he sold them out from under me going back on his word. But, in the end it's his sale and his speakers. It was just too far away for me to get there the same day, especially when he says not to come because someone is looking at them already.

The whole CL thing always is the same. Even if the seller starts out
trying to do the right thing, after a couple of buyers do a no-show,
it always comes down to the guy that shows up cash in hand.
The guys that call first dibs NEVER show up. Or show up and try
to steal it at half price. I would never hold anything for anyone
on a CL sale after getting jerked around. Most buyers never show.
If you want it, show up first with money."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

I know----I was just disappointed because we had 2 phone conversations and he knew i was about 70 miles away and knew I couldn't drop everything and get there in 15 minutes. He did what he had too, but it's not like it was huge amount of money or he couldn't have sold them if I didn't show up 24 hours later.
On a high ticket item that has little interest I could see going against his word but for a measly $150 for $800 speaks; he was probably beating people away with a stick.

Sadly enough, you give it away, and people STILL pull no shows.
One right after the other. And every buyer is frothing to have it.
I really hate CL for selling. On the buying side, I always show when
I say I will. There' a reason why Polk FM is so great. We work to make it
that way."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Thing is, had they been priced $300-400 I wouldn't have really been interested. I don't need another pair of speakers. It was such a good deal that I really just wanted to mess around with them a little bit in the office rig.
I'm quite happy with my upgraded Monitor 5B's for the office rig. These were too good a deal to pass up.

Brock,
Sorry man, I suspect something else very nice will come your way. Usually works out that way for good folks.
Not everyone though is like this, I once had a fellow hold a 22,000.00 item for me for two days even though he received a valid offer followed by a check from a local fellow who phoned him after I did. He still waited though for me though.

Maybe I shouldn't have been so nice Heiney

They seem to be just out of my grasp. It all started with the ones you bought from Noel. I missed those by a few hours.......then when you moved those on I missed it by a 1/2 day or so. Then UPS lost or mis-delivered or someone plain stole the ones I bought on e-bay about 6 weeks ago and now these. .
I'm beginning to wonder if LSi 7's are just cursed. I know MKZ had a pair FS recently but w/shipping I just didn't want to spend that much. I had a couple other deals on ebay at the time.
This frees me up to pursue an amp that someone here (GV27) provided a link to. This disease never ends.

I'm sure something will drop soon. I'll keep looking.
Thanks for the encouragement Ted

I hear ya. Hope I didn't cause you to miss them. I guess it should be first come first serve, I wish he just would have done that from the get go. He seemed real nice. I think he just wanted to be done with the hassle. Sounds like he had a lot of inquiries.
I pretty much thought we had a deal.

Think on the bright side it wasn't the first great deal and it will not be the last. I got a pair of LSI 9's a couple months back brand new condition from Madison craiglist for $300 and a couple weeks ago I got a pair of lsi 7's for $300. ( the speakers are still on Madison craigslist he wanted $500 then $400 and I got them for $300). The thing about good deals is you have to be able to drop everything and run like.....FOREST...

I am going to have a big time man amp for sale soon... sorry though, not Adcom.:D

Nah, he emailed me about 9:30AM yesterday. I tried to send him this link but it bounced back. It's alright I've move on to an amp on ebay which came up FS."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience.
