Placement of sub for HT

I am curious as to what the best direction to face a sub. I have a PSW350 that is in the front left of my seating, behind the front left main. I currently have it in the corner facing the left wall. Would it sound better to have it face forward rather than the side wall?
Mains: Polk RTi70's
Center: Polk CSi40
Surrounds: Polk TC60i's
Sub: Polk PSW505
Receiver: Onkyo TX-DS696
TV: Samsung HLS 5687W 56"
DVD: Sony DVP S5300
Protection: Monster HTS 3600
Backup Battery: Belkin AP3080010

Trial and Error my friend. The best thing you can do is try it. If you really wanna get down, place the sub in your seat and crawl around the room until you find the strongest bass then place your sub there. It really does work.

I was going to start another thread but my question fits under this one. :)

I'm looking into buying a HDTV to complete my HT. Are there any problems with placing a sub close to a projection TV ? My concern would be the bass knocking the lenses out of alignment over time.

I wouldn't. I've rattled the glare screen on mine with just the front mains going. I'd hate to see what's going on inside...

My 15" Tempest Sonosub is within inches of my 46" 16:9. It's amazing what isolation pads will do. I have no problems.

Ron, what kind of isolation pads are you using? My Mits tips the scale at about 400 lbs and is on casters; haven't been able to find something that would work.

yeah Ron. I have the same concern. I recently moved my sub away from the back of my Mits tv because I fear that I may shorten its life. I moved the sub right next to my right main. Still awesome but limited to LFE monster cable to the sub due to distance (about 8 feet). what kind of isolation pads are you using?

    thanks a bunch in advance,
