You can use an all in one program like Quick Time Pro to do everything. Or, if you want to go the "free" route get a converter to convert the .mov file to another format (.avi for example). Once you convert the video to say an .avi file you can use something like Vdub to edit the video. Here are the links for the free software. There are alot of other programs that do this but I just wanted to get you pointed in the right direction. Hope this helps.

    Free .mov file converter:

I d/l the free converter and gave it a test run. Worked pretty well. Just experiment with the different codecs to give you the best video/audio quality. I also ran trojan and virus scans on all files and I found nothing bad at all. The vdub program is GPU so you are good to go with that as well.

Make sure you extract all files in the .zip to their own folder (name folder whatever you want) then once you go into the folder click "movtoavi.exe" to run the program. I would recommend using the option "copy original video stream" for the same quality in video/audio as your existing movie file. Other options will work but will make the file size ALOT bigger. You can find that option in the bottom left hand corner under "Ouput file format/Video Settings".
