Stand to put the center channel directly above the TV?
Hey guys,
I'd like to put the Center channel directly about my TV. Right now my Entertainment stand has no room to put the speaker on, and I don't want the center channel sitting in front of my entertainment stand either.
I found this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/OmniMount-CCH1B-Center-Channel-Speaker/dp/B00067AIEU
but the back of my 46" Sony Bravia V3000 is completely flat and it probably won't be stable. The center channel I'm going for is the CSi3 and I think it weighs around 18 pounds? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I like that one. Should work fine as it's meant to hold a heavy crt tv. -
I've got a set top mounted stand on my tv with a Paradigm cc-370 on it. It's a DLP,
so there's a part in back that sticks out for the rear legs to rest on.
My son got one with his LCD. He made a wood base with two 1"
dowel rods and screwed the tops of the dowel rods into the rear
of this stand. The front of the bracket velcros to the tv. He painted
the wood base and dowels black. It looks and works pretty good.
We looked quite a bit. There really isn't a tv top mounted stand for
doing this. You either have to buy a stand with a mount on the back of it,
or get a stand that lets you put it underneath the tv."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
If you are on or against a wall you can also build a shelf. I picked up a couple of wrought iron brackets at Home Depot for about $12 and mounted it with very strong anchor bolts to hold my CS2. You can match the decor of your room this way and build an functional, solid shelf.
