I give Ben a year before he builds something that trumps that.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I think the world record holder is like 188+ dB? I might be wrong though but yeah, they are loud but most don't use a single driver.

Also, in the article, the "speaker" used is not a conventional transducer and it obviously uses and expansion chamber to amplify the sound.

Sorry, it's 180.5 dB it seems.

I remember reading about 188+ dB "burp" but it might have been the one that was unofficial and measured with a meter which had a calibration that couldn't be verified.

Loud is easy, it's math and real estate. Have Ben build something that actually sounds decent, and I'll be tickled in my nether-regions.

    Cheers,

Hell no! I have peaked at 126, and can run to 123db consistently. We both know that is way more than enough! A shotgun blast is 130db. It'll make your ears ring. By the way. I ran a trade, and have the proper drivers to redo the franken Polk's. In the previous 24x24 room it worked nicely. Not when you are only 10 feet from them;) And the Vifa ring radiators have fixed those nasty harsh mid/highs we were suffering from. Some day when I grow up I'll get some room treatments going;)

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben
