3.1TL tweeter upgrade question

Thanks for all the suggestions about upgrades and IC replacement but I have a few questions.

I have temporarily been using an unaltered RCA cable for the missing original IC. Does the center prong engage the IC socket properly if the male RCA connector is not altered(flanges removed)? simply...is the socket being satisfied...;):o:D

Also, thanks to CandyLiquor35m I bought two replacement SL3000s and the 3.1TLs are sounding incredible. What could I expect in changing them now to the replacement RD198-0 tweeter from Polk?

Also I have been told that B&K ST125.2 amp is suffficient to push these. Any concerns?

These babys really fill up a room wall with sound and the two NHT SW3s subs give a tremendous foundation of bottom end. Thanks again for the tips and knowledge.

I put the rd198-0 tweeters in mine and have been happy with the results. With the 3000"s the horns and certain piano notes would sound a bit harsh. The new tweeters smoothed out that harshness.

You can expect a smoother sound from the twweters. I have not heard the difference between the SL3000 and RDO replacement. But I have heard the difference from the SL1000 and SL2000 to the RDO replacement and the difference is awesome.

Go to radio shack and get some cheap RCA's use 12-14 Gage wire between the two speakers. The 26-28 gage wire isn't cutting it;)

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

The RDO is the way to go for sure. Like I've always said, Polk probably released a redesigned tweeter for a reason.

The SL2000 Sound like two knives rubbing together. I guess I got use to them because the bass in the 1.2's are so over Whelming.

When I replaced my SL3000 tweeters last year, I heard a slight smoothing of the top end; less "tizz" you could say. Remember, don't jump to conclusions right after you install them. Your old tweeters have been breaking in for decades, the new ones will need a few hours/days to reach their full potential.

    Good Luck!
