Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I'm back home, not 100%, but they tell me I'll be ok as long as I quit smoking. The problem there is that I really like smoking. On the other hand, I like breathing a bit more.....going to be a tough one.

I have to say, this was the best hospital I've ever been in. Even the food was decent....had crabcakes for dinner one night, not bad.

The folks in the ER where a little shocked when I mentioned walking across the parking lot to the door. They said I shouldn't have be able to walk more than a few feet. Effers don't know me!

    Bear, get better Bro!

My brother in law just got this same "edict" from failing a stress test and then having a stint shoved up his groin up into his heart to look at the dark spot in his right ventrical. No surgery but definitely a lifestyle change which first and foremost includes no smoking. Good luck Jesse. You may think quiting smoking will kill you...but just the opposite...you may get to hang around for awhile.

    Get better soon!

Welcome back to the land of the living Jesse. When I first read that you were ill, I was sure Tom had poisoned you with his cooking at Carverfest. :p:D

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Glad you're home and feeling better. Another recent quitter here (one year smoke free).

I loved smoking and did it for close to 35 years, and never thought I'd quit. I never even tried to quit until a couple of years ago. I was able to do it in the second "serious" attempt. Commit lozenges helped me do it.

I am 49 and have never felt better in my life. I always had a lit cigarette, and we would run out of milk or toilet paper but I'd never run out of smokes ;)

The decision is only yours, but let me tell you, it is worth the effort.
