Personally I like the way the MA sounds over the RTiA5. I listened to both several times (although not next to each other) and was about to get the MA. Then I found the RTi8's online and took advantage of the great offer - got a pair of them cheaper than I could get 1 MA RS6 for.....

    MA Advantages:
-Not quite as bright.....still on the bright side
    -more detailed mids
    -better soundstage

I have not listen to the Monitor RS6's , but I can tell you the RTI a5's sound great.
Are you looking for a good music speaker or home theater speaker? 2 channel listening or 5.1.

Lee - Flanner's has them in. Also check out the MA PL300 - INSANE!!

I think you would be fine with your Onkyo, although I didn't hear it matched with an Onkyo so I can't be certain. Also, the RS6 is a 6 ohm speaker, so you Onkyo may run a little warmer than it would with the Polks.

Either speaker, you can't go wrong....

I have both the rs8's and the rta5's in my home. the rs8 don't require a lot of power to sound great in my opinion. have listen to both sets of speakers on a b&K amp and a little nad stereo amp about 60watts. They sounded great with both. I prefer the rs8 for music. I haven't tried them in home theatre. If you can get the rs6 for the same price as the rta5's I say it's a no brainer. Go with the rs6's. The Onkyo is probably a better match them as well. Considering the they are less bright.

    Surround - RtiA1's
    Center - CsiA6

What kind of music do you listen to? Was it muddy, bright, too mechanical, etc?

Get an amp with the RS6. Something a little more laid back sounding - NAD, Roksan, Adcom....

You may have to give it time to break in. I'd imagine if you are using a receiver, it might sound a bit bright on some. Marantz or HK might be a better AVR match. Or just grab a decent amp.

I don't believe the Silver RS series to be much better than the Polk. If I was to pick anything out...it would be the high end response. It's a bit smoother, which I believe was mentioned previously.

I'd really like to hear the Platinum series from MA at some point.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

You can't compare the Dali's to the MA RS6......they are in a totally different price range - $2000-$2600. MA's will run $1000-$1200

Let them break in a little - keep bass and treble at 0 or no +/- gain. If the recording is bad, you will hear it with these speakers. Very accurate reproduction - just a little on the bright side. With your type of music, I don't think you would be any happier with the RTiA5's.

I owned the MA RS6's for a few months, and was very pleased at the performance/price ratio. To some, they may sound a bit forward. but my opinion was that they were pretty well balanced overall. If you can find a dealer to give you a ~20% discount off MSRP, I think they're hard to beat for the price...

In my country price on dali ikon 7 and monitor audi rs8 is the same, but concept series is more expensive than a monitor audio rs6, but sound is beter from concept. I don't know why rs6 with the yamaha v1800 sound have been sux...:( I very disapointed in this speakers.

I'm telling you to get a warmer amp and you'll love these things. If you're using Yamaha, I'm guessing it is very fatiguing on the ears - very bright!!

Better yet, bring these into the store and find an amp that fits the bill. You can use the Yami as a pre...
