RTA 8 TL questions

I have a pair of these speakers that I've had since new and loved until recently. I just picked up some vintage McIntosh equipment and now I find the speakers are too bright and shrill. I've searched the forum before and found something regarding upgrades to the tweeters that will tone it down some, but I can't find the link now. Can someone explain how and what I should do to make these speakers more subdued so I can enjoy them another 20 years? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Give Ken at Polk Customer Service a call and order a pair of RDO198 silk dome tweeters. They are the direct replacement for your SL2500s and have a great sound.

Are there any do it yourself mods that I can do with the SL2500's that would help first? If not I'll give him a call for sure. Thanks -
