Hey guys.
I have 2 12 inch Kicker CompVR12s, and a 800w Boss amp. I've been searching and searching online on how to do this, one site says this one site says that and I'm just 100% confused now. So heres my cry for help.
How do I wire my subs to my amp? I don't understand this whole series vs. parallel and bridging and 2ohm or 4ohm stuff. Which way would be the best? A wiring diagram would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!

Are the subs dual voice coil? Is the amp capable of a 2 Ohm load?
Check this out; http://www.crutchfield.com/S-s723T6YJAjT/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.htmlThanks, Jeff... -
Yes, the subs are dual voice coil.
The amp specs are -
RMS Power Output: 150w x 2 @ 4 Ohm
Peak Power Output: 400w x 2 @ 2 Ohm
Bridged Output: 800w x 1 @ 4 Ohm Bridged -
Which of these two ways would give me more power?

Are the subs dual 4 ohms or dual 2 ohms?

Dual 2ohm

Since you have dual 2 ohm voice coils you are not going to be able to extract all the power out of your Boss amplifier. Your second wiring schematic from Crutchfield is correct. You will wire your voice coils in series resulting in a 4ohm load at each speaker and then wire one speaker to each channel. You will be getting the 150 watts into 4ohm power from your amplifier. Sorry but thats the best you can do with dual 2ohm voice coil subwoofers.

Ok thank you for all your help guys! I'm gonna get some better subs ^_^

The subs are good, what you need is a monoblock amp that does its rated power at 2 ohms.
Kicker, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate Punch comes to mind.

Your best bet is to leave the speakers alone. They will provide plenty of bass for you. The amp however is a fairly low quality unit and more than likely won't handle much stress. It also won't push power very nicely and will leave you wanting for more.
Just replace the amp once you get to that point not the speakers.Living Room Rig:D
