Soundstage Vacuum Two Class A Tube Preamp- $225 + shipping lower 48.

This is an entry level 2 channel preamp. Has 4 inputs and 2 sets of outputs. I am the original owner and bought this new last year. I had never heard tubes before this and bought it to get a taste. Now I'm hooked and only selling it because I upgraded to a much more expensive tube preamp. This unit is on the warm side of nuetral. It made my rig sound a tad more holographic and 3-D! If you haven't heard the magic of tubes yet here is an opportunity to try it. It is in excellent condition with no scratches or blemishes. The ON led indicator light went out, but I actually was pleased about this because the blue LED was way too bright. I will include extra goodies: 4 sets of 6922 tubes (JJ Tesla, Jan Philips, Amperex Bugle Boys and Amperex White label) plus 4 tube dampers. The JJ Tesla and Bugle Boys are newer tubes, so they have lots of life left. It was fun to roll different tubes to slightly alter the tone of the unit exactly to my preference. Includes power cord, owners manual and original box/packing.

Paypal + 3% or money order.

I've never heard this pre but seems like a great way for somebody to get into tubes.

It kind of reminds me of Dodd ELP....

If I had the extra money I would buy it just to play with.

    Good luck with your sale.

    Thanks Nick.

I'm hoping that it stays in the family. I bought it new from a Polkie.

Ern Dog . . . you got pics of your system? I'm digging your Modwright and Audiozone gear. I almost went with the Modwright, but found my Dodd to be a little closer to what I like.

Oh by the way, for $225, this preamp is a steal. I heard it a couple times, it'll give anyone new to tubes a lesson in what fun can be had . . . and for next to nothing.

    SolidSqual,
My digital camera just died and I'm sending it in for repairs, so no pics for awhile.

The Modwright is a beast! It's got this great analog sound to it and brings lots of depth and weight to the music. So far it seems to be a good match with the Audio zone monos.

On a side note, you probably know this already, but TAS is doing a review on your Emmy's next issue.

Nice to hear you are enjoying the ModWright SWL9.0. I am a big fan of his gear. I started with one of his modded Sony 999’s and SWL9.0SE’s. He has a fantastic phono stage (high gain, quiet and VERY dynamic), which I had added to my SWL making it a SWLP Signature Edition (with MWI signature film caps and external tube PS). His first amp offering will make a public appearance at the RMAF this year.

Good luck with your sale! Lots of flavors with that 6922 tube.

He made a huge splash with his 1st preamp and I expect the same quality with his 1st amp. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that one.

I'm not aware of any, but there is more info on this old Polk forum thread, where I purchased it from: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49233&highlight=soundstage+vacuum
