Hi Guys,

Interested in a 2gen RT bookshelf series comparison? And true RTxx and RTxxi series differences?

New to the forum and didn't really know where to post this. This is my first post alltough I have been researching this site the past 2 weeks as a guest. Why? Because it's a great sitefor info! Looks like most of ya are cool also.

I am a long time Polk bookshelf owner (1985 M4's ) (did away with monster cabinets decades ago) Still have my 4 thoroughly massaged Monitor4 Series 2's. Was going to replace the SL1500 tweeters with a silk dome then, it occured to me to look at newer Polk versions. Plus the wife is fixated on in-walls now that I have put a few in and, I felt the OE drivers should be left in these for historys sake. They sound great w/ new caps and the other mods I did anyway.

So! I am looking for speakers...

Found locally a set of: MINT RT55's-$125.00pr
Picking them up tonight! The guy scanned and e-mailed his 55 owners manual. There are some differences now that I compared the 55 manual to the 55i specs on the Polk website. All the many post I read here have right and wrong answers.

Ordered a set of discontinued but NewIB: RTi6's. Unfortunatley the choices was black or black. Sigh.. $203.00pr shipped! Should be here Monday or Tues.

So, I can compare the M4's, RT55 and RTi6 might be a little unfair but, my M4's are not your mothers oldsmobile either. I'm really interested in how the ARC port design plays out with noise cancelling.

Is the comparison worth posting? Your thoughts?

Paul

Welcome......go for it. For the future only post the topic in one area. We'll find it. Multiple same topic posts are annoying. :)

Which category would you post it under?

I'll delete the others or admin with you answer.
