LSIFX Speaker Placement

I have a dedicated hometheatre room with bar area, It's approx 16 feet wide, 30 feet long with a bar in a kitchen nook type of area. Because of the nook im having trouble with placement of my fx's for a 7.1 channel setup. The wall before the nook where i intended to mount them is only 9 feet or so long, and im sitting about 14 ft from projector screen.

What would be a better choice, to mount them quite a bit higher then where i sit (say top of speaker would be 8 feet high but now INLINE with ear) or mount them on wall that is 2feet above ear height but about 4 feet infront of listening position?
