Hi -

I have a pair of Monitor 7c with the SL 2000 tweeters. I am picking up a pair of Monitor 7b with the Peerless tweeters. I haven't heard the Peerless tweeter before. Any opinions between the two speakers? Thanks

Let me start off by staying the the difference between the speakers is a letter... :p

But seriously, the Peerless is a much better sounding tweeter than the SL2000 in the opinion of many. It doesn't have the harshness that some people associate with the SL2000. I'd be interested to hear your take on the differences between them, but I would take the Peerless 7B any day.

    Welcome to Club Polk
I think the Peerless tweeters are awesome and every bit as good if not better than the RDO's in my opinion and far better than the SL2000's. Becareful not to blow them by clipping/over driving your power source.
What are you using to drive them?
Pictures are always welcome too, we love pictures here.

    Thanks for the input.

I just picked up the 7bs with the stands (they are in mint condition), but have yet to set them up.

I have two choices of to drive the speakers with. A Yamaha CA-810 intergrated amp (65watts, 8 ohms) or a new Yamaha receiver as a preamp with an Adcom amp (175 rms, 8 ohms). I then have two sources to choose from a sony cd/dvd player with HDMI and RCA outputs (depending on if I go vintage or not) or a Kenwood KD-650 turntable with a Shure M97xE cartridge.

I think I'm going to have some fun this weekend :)

I'll try to post some pictures.
