Now this is something actually interesting.....and no, he didn't use super duper expealidocious caps and parts. Sometimes it's simply best to stick close to the original design and improve the little things.

PAS-3

Stereo 70

There's also some good history in the thread for you folks that want to add to your list of knowledgeable items.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The SCA-80Q with the DynaQuad built-in was a cool item.

Yeah, i like them. Actually have two. One is relegated to garage duty right now, and the other in the loft for parties.

My first one got me through college paired with my Paradigm Titans. Spent many a night just chilling out in the dark listening to that setup, without 50 million LEDs staring at me like today's equipment. :D

    More audio spam? Geeze.

That guy has got a couple of talents. In addition to doing great resto work, he's a world class marketer. One day I'd like to own something classic like that in as good a shape.

The last one I had got traded away for a Tandberg TCD-310. Before I traded it it was driving a large pair of Advents in my daughters bedroom.

I think that thing was nothing more than an ST-80 w/PAT-4 preamp and the DynaQuad circuit all in one box.
