Is a set of q-logic kick panels out of the question?
Deadening doors with no speakers in it really only helps with road noise.

I haven't found any made for a 1996 Buick Century wagon.

I assumed that the front 4x6's were in the doors.
If not, then it would be pointless to seal the front doors unless you're worried about road noise.
It would be helpful to get a head unit with built in crossovers.
But, still, I would recommend just getting a 4 channel amp and using its crossover. Not only will it solve the bass problem, but you'll end up with a lot more clean power to work with.
From my experiences, head unit power just isn't enough to make most after market speakers sound right.
Also, as far as I know Q Logic kickpanels work for 6" round speakers only.Denon X7200WA

If I can find the room, then perhaps I'd add an amp w/crossover, I know that would be the ideal choice.
If I did go with speakers in the rear doors, how would I wire all six of those speakers? -

That really depends.
Off head unit power alone, it's not really recommended unless you wire two pairs of speakers together in a series wiring. Doing that will significantly reduce how much power the head unit is sending to each pair, so again I wouldn't recommend it.
Another way to run 3 pairs of speakers is to run 1 pair off the head unit and the other two with a 4 channel amp.
Or, if you made sure you got a head unit with 4 sets of pre-outs, you could run a 6 channel amp. Most head units have 3 sets of pre-outs , but the 3rd set is usually for the subwoofer amp, and I'm not sure if it will play full range frequencies.Denon X7200WA

So if in the radio's specs it said:
Preamp outputs....6-channel
That would be fine, right?
It also has Sub preamp outputs.
The head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P77DH, which is one of few that fit my car. -
Also, I could use two separate amps instead of one 6-channel amp, right?
