Cherry + Black finish

hey op, i was already in that position, having started my polk collection with all cherry. then the upgraditis hit hard. so i went from mon 50's to rti10's ( from cherry to black ) with my csi3 in cherry surrounded by the rti's and all the wood furniture i have, it looked great. a blend of oaks, cherry's and the black tv, with leather furniture looked sweet to me. i eventually got tired of straining to hear dialogue so i went up to the csi5 ( black ). now my fronts are all black, i moved the mon 50's to the rear with mon 30's for backs ( cherry also ) and i think it looks quite contemporarySamsung pn64f8500

I had everything (well, just the RTi12s at that point but that's a crap load of wood already!) in black as some wood grained finishes look really horrible. When I ordered my CSi5, I ordered it in black but they sent my the cherry.... And the mistake was all mine. The 12's would have been gorgeous in cherry... for the same price. If I could do it over again...
Yeah, I've heard the cherry finish is fantastic! -

Thanks for sharing that. From what I've read on this thread so far, it seems that the mismatch will not look bad at all. I'm glad I decided on better performance over aesthetics. -

I lucked out that they match the entertainment center almost perfectly. Huge WAF.:D____________________

I got my RTi8s in yesterday. I took a couple of snapshots of them. The cherry finish is indeed very nice. The pictures don't do them justice. You have to see them in person to truly appreciate the finish. I also decided to add a pic of my subwoofer - the mighty MFW-15. Also, my CSi5 is supposed to come today. I'll post more pictures once I get it.

Okay, my CSi5 finally came...and this thing is huge. It almost looks like it's too big for the RTi8. Like if you were to stand the CSi5 vertical, it seems like the CSi5 would be wider. I haven't tried it though, I'm just trying to picture it since it's sitting on top of my TV. The CSi5 is crystal clear and has a fullness that I haven't heard in a center before. I've heard the Athena C1, Polk CS1, and Polk CS2, and it's nowhere near the clarity or fullness of the CSi5.
