Tile effects upon room acoustics?

My playroom is being re-done, and the landlord opted for ceramic tiles on the floor (not my choice). The measurements of the room is approximately 25ft X 20ft. What effects will this have on the room acoustics? Will it brighten up the sound, cause echos, weaken bass frequencies? Would installing a rug help with acoustics? What other steps should I consider?

    Get a area rug.

For that size room, get two. Maybe three.

    yea, what they said or...........

try wrapping yourself in a blanket, might save some dough on rugs.

don't forget to leave a hole for your nose so you can breathe.

For music, I like to tame a room with area rugs. For normal TV watching and movie dialog, I find the added reflections to boost dialog and actually make some soundtracks better with less dynamic changes in the vocal track. You know those soft movies that always seem to have too many quiet scenes. Currently my living area is tile without rugs and I kinda like it once I got over the added volume.
