CRS question

I haven't been around for a while but a recent possibility has me pondering another pair of Polks. Before I leap I thought I'd ask the experts. Am I getting hosed if I lay out $90 for a pair of CRS with no interconnect? I don't know if they're +'s or not, they have one tweeter (silver dome).

Hey Cheese Head, Go get them and if I was still a Cheese Head I would have gotten already. Good to see you back and stay around this time. I used to live 25 miles north of Milwaukee.

Get them and you will most likely want to ditch your dual tweeter models;)Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Man I'm such a sucker.....
They're a little beat up but not too bad. All drivers seem to work well and the grills are in generally good condition with the exception of a little pulling away from the frames in a couple places. -
$90 I would not say you are a sucker. Those speaker wires need to be upgraded. You don't have to spend a bunch, but those need to be replaced;)Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. You can make an IC cable with an RCA connector. You remove the petals and use just the center pin. The blade does nothing on that set of speakers.

Nope. Have you recently had a physical?CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
whats the differance between the two models besides the tweeters? someone said to unhook the outside tweeter, it may have been you, and it would sound better, have not tried that yet. i guess ill give it a go.
Nothing that really changes your life and I'd leave the tweeter hooked up. I think the CRS(Dual Tweeter) can sound "odd" but that's depending on the media and if you've seriously listened to another pair of CRS in the first place.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Thanks for the vote of confidence. The wires were just for preliminary testing. This is what is usually pushing my 7B's, and what I'm currently listening to the CRS's through..... -
for a temp solution, you can poke a bare wite in where the pin is supose to go, at least you can get the SDA going till you can get a better solutionDodd - Battery Preamp

I have suggested disconnecting the dimensional tweeter. I did on my early SDA2's. The highs would get out of control. The few that have actually tried it thought it was an improvement. It's free to try. I don't know if Doro ever tried it, but it does clean things up quite a bit. If you notice only the first generation used the dimensional tweeter. The next four did not. There is a reason for this;) If after disconnecting the dim tweeter you will notice slightly attenuated highs. This is easily fixed by decreasing the value of the series resistor in the stereo XO. Stock they are 5.6ohms, and should be dropped to 3.5 to 4 ohms if you want to continue using just the stereo tweeter.

I've heard and owned quite a few SDA's in my travels Ben, what do you think?CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

After doing a little reading I went with the modified RCA cable method. The pin fits nicely but isn't as snug as a regular RCA connection. I notice a slightly fuller sound with the cable in. Am I to understand that one of the mids dosen't fucntion if the cable is not in?
