For the 3rd straight year, they get donkey punched by an elite team outside their conference. Obviously the O stands for Overrated.

I'm an OSU fan through and through. I didn't want to believe it the past two years, as we have good football players and athletes, but I'm beginning to wonder what the hell is going on. It's not like we don't have good athletes. but they just can't seem to do anything right. And our coaches are old, stubborn and conservative. They fail to make the necesary adjustments during the game and the gameplan is usually blown after the first series. Our conservative boring play calling is really killing us, every elite team we play exploits it. Mark Sanchez even said in an interview last night about the first touchdown pass that they had seen that exact defense over and over in the film room and they ran that exact play over and over in practice. They know exacly what's coming every time.

    Absolutely pathetic last night.

    USC looks damn good.

OSU lost the game before it even started.

Not playing Wells. Nobody really buys into that BS about him being hurt and not being effective. Well's wanted to play, let him play. Tressel benched Wells because he was expecting to lose I think this lost might have been more difficult to swallow had they lost with Wells. By having Wells sit out, it gives them something to build on after their lost when Wells comes back. But this definitely was the action of a coach who not only expected to lose, but expected to lose badly.

See I saw it this way also. It was almost like Tressel was trying to minimize the damage. I mean really is a number 5 team that dependent on one player? If so then they should be ranked lower than 5, because in my eyes a number 5 team should over come that and plug in the next great RB, and have the team rally around the QB and the offensive line.

Yes, they can be that dependant on one player. see Oregon last season after Dennis Dixon went down. See John David Booty getting hurt for USC last year against Stanford.

Wells opens a lot of things up for OSU. He is one of the best backs in the county so he obviously gets our running game going. When that is working our passing game (which was pathetic) can open up a bit more. but that doesn't mean a thing when the offensive line couldn't keep my grandma from the quarterback.

I have to disagree only because you are basing your points off of injured QB's. An injured QB is a lot more different than an injured RB in any level of football.

I just say this because it reminded me of the 1990 CU Buffs. Colorado was Ranked #5, and they were playing the #8 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. CU lost Eric Bieniemy (Third in the Heisman voting) to a suspension for the game. So Colorado threw in their best WR to play RB. Mike Pritchard rushed for 217 yards on 20 carries in a 31-31 tie.

All I am saying is that despite the loss of Wells, they should have adjusted accordingly and at least made a game of it. Again if you are #5 in the country you should have the RB's to make up for the loss of Wells. Obviously the O-line did not do their job.

    Does Wells play on defense?

    Nope...

    Non-factor.

Despite the fact that they are supposed to be experienced/good, our OL and QB suck.
