I have try many posting on other website but nobody seems to know the answer so I am posting here!
I don't really know the difference where the front door and the kick panel is?
Here is a link my question on fit: http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/m_137346/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#137389
Basically, I would like to take out the 4" OEM speakers on the bottom front door and put in the SR6500s for a 1991 Honda Accord SE sedan.
My installation shop does not sell Polks and they said they could do it but they were kind of busy to talk in detail and just said it to be rid of me but I talk to several people who own Honda's of that period and they said that it depends on the speakers; so I am try to find an answer. My install shop only sells Hertz, Focal and another high end brand that I forgot the name - wanted my to get the MLK2s. $2K! I mention these the SR6500! They said they were crap! They want me to by the Audison amp to for $1,400!
I have done business with them in the past on several cars so they know me - saying that I am a cheapstake!
It a shop that works with the rap stars, pro athletics and celebrities so they can afford to be vain; since they average installation is around the $10K-$20K figure!
The Polk Audio fit guidance on this website said it the SR5250 will fit on a DX model but not a SE! What joke! Completely wrong! Useless guide! Make no sense since there is a pod shell that holds the 4" in it place. You can trim it to make opening bigger or even remove it complete to install a new speaker.
I wanted the installation to be complete flush so that the Honda speaker grid can be use and place back on the door.
I was thinking about getting the new Polk MM691 for the rear.
Alpine Pdx-5 is the amp for installing in under the front passenger seat.
I have a KEF 10" sub that I already purchased.
Headunit is a Kenwood KVT 512 with NAV.
I would appreciate any one offer an opinion, suggestion or even better, has done the installation on the front.
Thanks you.
