I'm not sure he would have liked to have his music classified as any one style or genre, whatever the cool term. I'm fairly sure psychedelic was not his goal, seeing how the whole affair made him laugh.

It's good to have another fan of Zappa here.

Have you been to his live concerts?

He was electrifying live, but for the life of me, I've hardly ever been able to sit through one of his albums. So I quit trying.
I think Alice Cooper was his opening act, but that was a long time ago.

Frank was kinda like Shostakovich or Picasso- definitely an adult portion.

I saw Zappa twice, the last time at Merriweather. The other time he played through a Pignose amp sitting on a metal folding chair! Obviously with PA support.

I always thought you needed drugs to enjoy psychedelic music. I've been through weed, acid, mescaline, shrooms...you name it. But as you get older you realize that that **** isn't necessary at all, because in the wisdom that can only be garnered through years and years of real life experience, it finally dawns on you that .........................

a six pack of some good brewskis works just as well!

The only thing that dawned on me after I went from the 60's to the present, is that I'm the luckiest SOB on the planet.

Listening to Country Joe and the Fish "Electric Music for the Mind and Body". Not my favorite psychedelic music but quintessential for one of the earliest of the acid bands.
