Do you guys really think that is a great deal? I'm pretty sure Frys had them for $300/each last year. I might be wrong, but that is what I recall. The shipping charge is about $100 for one, which means double what I paid for my Rti 10's ($250/each shopped) from JR. Just trying to give Bjorn a reason to not buy them...

Well i got my 10's for $380/pair a few weeks ago so no complaints here.... just joking about the buying part. I think $399/each is a good price especially since you can't find them in stock anywhere. if you have to have them, atleast you are now able to buy them at a good price.

You def got a great deal. I've read some posts where people claimed they preferred the 10s, saying that the 12's were too "boomy." Of course, it is all personal taste. Not trying to knock the 12s. i suspect they would be less bright as long as you have them emped. But I have no regrets with my 10s. On some music they just blow me away!

If I were going to buy a set of new Polks, I'd be looking on Polk Direct. There aren't any 12s on there now, but a few 10s, some 7s and a pair of 5s, as well as, Lsi 9s & 7s.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

I've always heard them called too bright at least for Music--Its also in how they are setup, and if properly driven, etc. Not just personal taste. You can have them sounding very different, simply in the way there setup (Full range, Small with Crossover and a sub, cheap amp, separate good amp, etc).
