Sda srs 1.2tl

Hi every one. I am new member and a big fan of sda srs 1.2TL and have one set sda srs before as will. Few days back I got new amp ROTEL RB-1090 and I want to see how far I can go whit 1.2 TL. The problem is I went to far and now some thing went wrong whit tweeter # 4 on both speakers. Like noting they are not working it all. I took out and replace both tweeters still nothing. But old tweeter play fine on other #3 location. I think cross over went bad and i need to know if any one of you had that problem and how to fix that.Thanks to all of you doing good job being a part of club and helping each other. Roy Boy

    Welcome,I would say you burned a resistor. Check the top post in this section for a schematic. I would not see how far the 1.2s can go as you do not have near enough power, you will destroy them.

    The level at which tweeter 4 plays is a bit lower than tweeter 3. Take a paper towel roll center and place one end over your ear and the other over tweeter 4. If it's playing at all, you will be able to hear it.

    Hi. Ok I was thinking that the rotel RB-1090 will be ok to used whit that big of speakers because I have two of onkyo M504 hook up to them before and they are going all the way up to 165W and speakers was doing fine. Any way when I got them I call polk 800# and ask them way the lower tweeter is doing a good job then rest of three and they sad that the way cross over work. I did not like what they sad about but. I am whit polk for last year and so. But Tugboat saying that the # 3 must be lauder then the rest. I did the test and was both of my set had # 4 was doing the most of work. Any Idea how to get parts ?. I need all the help I can get. And I fix car if any one need any help just let me know.Thank Roy

    165wpc is not near enough to see what the 1.2TLs will do. You'll need alot more power. Good luck.

    YES. I know and that way I got rotel RB-1090 a week ago. That is 380 wpc . I think that my do the job ?. Any idea how to find parts for cross over ?.

    Hello. You are the man how got 1.2 from NJ. and I like to let you know I have seen all the work you did on to that set. A good job. Any info how to get pars for crossovers. Thanks

    Go to polksda.com and read the review of the sda-srs and you will understand how the tweeters work, you may also note how much power it took to reached the limit of the speaker,you need way more. Keep in mind the max output of a sda-srs is 125 db so most good car stereos will get louder,thump harder if you will, if you want loud sell the 1.2s to me and get some Klipsh La Scalas. I think Polk may be right and nothing is wrong.

    At 165W a 1.2TL will be producing somewhere around 113 decibles one meter away. Unless you're rocking all the way out, most people won't use that much power in regular listening. Good to have headroom, though.

    Hi. Thanks for all the info. I think I can do that work by my self but if some one you know live by Glen Cove Long Island New York how I can call or he can give some help that will be nice. The funny thing is that when you pay 1250 I think for your speaker I started to look into what kind of those speakers are and now having them is moor fun then any thing else.     yes that the way they are. I had sda srs set before and the #4 higher then the rest. I thank you for the info.Take care Roy

    I got two ONKYO M504 amplifiers and one do not have side panels. If any one of you have for sale just let me know. Also any Idea what is good pre amplifier for Rotel RB 1090 ?. Thanks
