Speaker hook up question

Can I have two sets of front left and right speakers running at the same time. The reason I ask is because I want to run a pair of RTi12s with my amps and run my RTi10s with my receiver is this possible?

Yes- just feed the preamp outputs on the receiver to the inputs on the amplifier. Wire one pair of speakers to the receiver and the other pair to the amp. Depending on the gain structure of the amp, one pair of speakers may play at a different volume then the other.
Hopefully you're not running the 2 pairs of speakers at the same time in the same room.-Eric

Thanks for the answer Eric, excuse my ignorance but why not in the same room at the same time?****Home Theater****

Well it's OK if you're throwing a party and have the speakers surrounding the room "night club style" or you have an exceptionally large room and are trying to cover different areas. But if you're doing any sort of serious listening, it's better to just use one set at one time.
What happens is you'll get this huge hodgepodge of sound from 2 different sets of speakers basically smearing with each other. Nothing will blow up, it just won't sound proper.-Eric

Thanks Eric I really don't need the night club effect ****Home Theater****
