i just picked up a pair of LSi7s today and just wanted to share my thoughts, i am fairly new to polks and this is my third set. i have to say they are a lot heavier than i thought they would be, the finish is fantastic and the sound is very impressive and besides that they just look cool. i wanted to get the LSi9s but i couldnt pass on these. i got them for $160, i think i dun good, very happy.

got them on the bay, i am using a sunfire TG2 and a carver TFM-35 or a carver av806x, havent deceided yet. the speakers actualy cost $169.99, i dont think the seller knew what they were, they were listed as monitors but i could tell by the picture they were LSi7s so i jumped all over it with buy it now. the more i listen the better they sound.

That is indeed one sweet deal. Congrats on scoring it. I noticed from the Ebay pics that the serial number was removed roughly, thought that is rather interesting.

jj, are you using it as main or surround?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

surrounds, i think i will keep using my monitor 12s for my mains, im using a crappy bose 100 for center, will replace as soon as i can, any sugestions on a center? never noticed the serial number, i hope they are not stolen, i would hate to think my good fortune was someone elses misfortune, they just wouldnt sound as good from then on. i really hope thats not the case.

    Dang again!

    Surrounds??

To me that's like saying "I only use my Porsche Carrera to run to the mailbox and back...I use the Lamborgini for road trips." :D

thats a good one, i hope to get a set of 9s to use for fronts but they cost a bit more and i have to save up, then the monitors and sda-crs will do two channal duties with my pioneer receiver.

What condition was the black piano finish in? I was going to bid on these as well but the finish didn't look to hot

the bottoms have a few light scratches but the fronts and tops are nearly perfect, they had a lot of dust and smudges on them but cleaned up nicely

Tweeters usually blow when you have too little power. Do you already have the Sunfire and Carver, or are you using something temporary that may have led to this untimely demise? If so, be careful, since it could happen all over again if you push a receiver too far (low power receivers are usually the culprits).

Sweet deal. Don't turn up the treble, and crank them. Leave the tone controls flat;) A couple caps will alleviate the need to turn up the treble;)
    Ben
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

i have been using the TG2 and TFM-35 or the carver av806x amp, i have used both, hey ben whats this caps thing and how do i fix it? with what and where do i get them? i dont know a lot about xovers and such but i am not afraid of a soldering iron, i actualy fixed the blown tweeter for a temp fix until i got the new ones, it just sounded kind of weak compaired to the other but it worked. i took it apart soldered the tiny wire back together then reassembled it.
