RIP Mark. Hang in there, Al.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Mark's sister called me yesterday to tell me Mark had passed away. In my great sorrow I Googled his name and found this forum. Mark was my college roommate, we lived in Gault Hall at the U of I where Mark painted the walls of our dorm room with Doonesbury Cartoons. He was always taking pictures of something, he traded a rifle for a bass guitar and we played in some garage bands. His brother Scott always said if there was no drama happening around Mark he would create it, thats where he was happiest. He was a camerman for Cops (he said the Pittsburg shootings scared the hell out of him). He had a steady hand, a creative eye and a big heart. He role played a thief named "Weez" in Dungeons and Dragons. He is now filming in the heavens, I'm gonna miss him dearly....:(

Al and others here, I too knew Mark. I was his partner on the show COPS and he was one of my favorite humans on the planet I've written a short eulogy on my sites at Tv.com and MySpace. I'll be at the memorial this Saturday in Valencia. While working on the show COPS over 9 years, we would constanly ask the question why the really good people on the planet get killed off or die, while the scum bags seem to survive. One police chief's wife remarked "you can't kill dirt".

The loss of Mark in our life's is huge, even though I hadn't spoken with him in a while. He was a consumate professional at what he did, a loving husband and father, and just a great buddy to have. We will miss him greatly. Thanks so much to all the love, prayers and support from those here.

For those that were Mark's family or friend...I am so sorry for your loss. I know and remember the sad feeling well from when my best friend of 35+ years dropped dead of a heart attack a few years ago.

The only thing I can add is:

Remember...it's ok to be sad that he is gone. But be glad that he was a part of your life for whatever time you knew him. Most likely you are a better person for it!

Sorry to hear what happened to your friend. I hope situations like this makes people realize that they need to be more careful drivers. How hard is it to **** check your mirror and turn right before a lane change? I hope the driver gets some jail time at least.

I really hate drivers who change lanes without signaling. This wanna be civic racer was weaving left and right and drove me to the left tip of the road. It was a two lane street, and I ended up tip toeing between him and the curb riding on the yellow line. When he realize he almost ran me over, he weaved to the right of the road and ran off before I can flip him off.
