Just finished the Braves game. Walk-off balk?!? I've watched baseball RELIGIOUSLY my entire life and have never seen anything like this. I've scoured the internet and have yet to find another instance. I suspect the eggheads at ESPN are trying to do the same. Yeah, yeah... balks aren't as common as they were in the 70's and 80's, but what ump has ever had the cajones to call it in an extra-inning, game-winning situation?

Anybody old, young, whatever have a recollection of this scenario?
Amazing!!!
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Beyond mental error. My cousin and I scream balk every time the other pitcher takes a step off the mound. But this balk was so obvious... Infante might as well have been celebrating a walk-off HR. The crowd saw it instantly. Long story short - bad year, great moment.

    Here's to next year.

There was a balk this evening in St Louis by the Cubs pitcher Marmol in the bottom of the ninth. St Louis won... rats.

What a way to welcome Todd Helton back... with a stupid mental error like that. He's thinkin'... "man I shoulda stayed out one more game..!"
P.S. Todd Helton is the Veteran 1st baseman for the Colorado Rockies for those not in the know. He has had back problems all year.
    Thanks, Jeff...

That this involved a Rockies team, and that the Rockies were the offenders does not shock me one bit, they always seem to be on the receiving end of crazy stuff that happens.

I think what shocked me the most is when Nomo no hit them in Coors Field during the long-ball era, I mean how do you not get one hit in Coors Field? It's almost impossible.
