Hi

I thinking about buying a set of 2.3 tl's.I presently have a set of 3.1 tl's with the rdo tweeters.I like the 3.1's but would like to know if any one here has had the chance to compare these speakers and could let me know what the results were.

Thanks

    More SDA effects on 2.3's.

+ 1 Lasareath. It's like apples an oranges. 2.3's all the way.

The 2.3tl's will just do it better in every way IMHO,, they just have a bigger presence--good luck.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

How large is your room? If not very big, the 3.1's might work better for you. They have the most narrow front baffle and a single tweeter. This gives it exceptional depth in imaging. Mine also have the RDO's along with a hot-rodded X-over (sonicaps and mills). On most music it compares favorably to my 1.2's. 3.1's simply don't have the deep bass extension.

2-tall, your room looks almost identical to mine. I have mine set up on the long wall.
As for the difference in sound before and after the x-over upgrade, I could not tell you. Ricardo did all the work! I do know that front to rear imaging is probably the best I have heard from an SDA. Width is very source dependant. I use CRS's and 1.2TL's for a reference. Oh, yeah, I also had a pair of 2B's. Anyhoo, brass instruments sound more real than I have heard from past SDA's. Really crisp. Vocals are also more intelligable. Subtle background sound is clearer. Things are just BETTER.
Try doin' a search about "3.1TL crossover upgrade", I think you will find everything you need there.
