My audio guy recommended to make my own sub box. what are the pros and cons of doing so? What makes it different from buying a pre-cut one? Do you think it will make a huge difference in sound quality? BTW, what're the best sub enclosures you can buy?

it depends on alot of factors. Mainly the driver if you buy a pre cut you have to find a driver that matches those dimentions space wise , You can buy just about any driver and build your box to match what you need.
